Hey guys,

IT IS MUCH TOO QUIET IN THIS FORUM!!!!

Make some noise, post some ideas and opinions: be creative.

It looks like this forum is dead or something.

Much has hapened lately though.

Vanessa-Mae harresed by letters and pursuit; stalker now captured and held in custody for psychiatric assesment.

Vanessa-Mae signed at Sony. She told us so, members of this forum, exclusively. It has not been reported elsewhere in other media. We should feel privileged and proud for that!

But did she made the right choice with Sony, or were there any better posibilities? What are the commercial prospects for her dual career at Sony.

Sony will create a new website for our Vanessa-Mae. How is Sony doing on artist websites in general? After three years of complaint and getting only broken promises for that, what can we expect now?

The new album will be out in the srping of 2004 on the Sony label.

Come on guys! Enough for fruitful discusions!

I think that the move to Sony is a good choice,
EMI are old and outdated,
Where as Sony are new and still young,
Sony are the in thing at the moment.

I look forward to seeing Vanessa's new web site
with it being developed by Sony and going by their
programming team I think it will be something very
Special.

I honestly believe that Vanessa's new fan site will
bring her closer to us.
She has after all proved that she still appreciates us.

Well as Vanessa-Mae is from the UK I would say that the release
will be around April/May which is British Spring time

I hope it won't be an ad related CD.

:p

Sony Music has already received one bad email from me. I bought my wife a Celine Dion Let's Talk About Love CD years ago. We put it in the computer drive, and an AOL popped up. Sony said "simply close the ad, and select the computer CD player." I said "I paid $15 bucks for this ... why must I be inconvenienced?".

Eventually, I got a new CD from them.

Anyway, a few websites of their artists seem okay.

Hey Gaven,

I don't want to point to anyone in particular. All should decide for themseves how often to visit to forum and to what intensitiy of involvement in the discussions they want to participate. And if people don;t want to post then that is their legitimate choice.

Only this forum can't exist without active members; without active members this forum is simply useless.

I just hope that we all can keep this forum alive and livley. Together we should be able to keep up an acceptable activitiy.

Hey Joe, I think that was quite neat of Sony to provide a new cd!

My guess is that Vanessa-Mae's new album will be just a regular audio cd. Well just my idea that is based on nothing in particular.

Way to go Alyssa, you tell 'em gal!

BTW

Sony are they the ones who are experimenting with the new
anti copy system?

I think it goes something like this...

When you purchase a CD (Game or Audio) the law as governed
by Philips the inventors state that the owner of such media has
the right to make 1 back-up copy for their own personel use.

What Sony (if this is the correct company) is doing is Data
protecting the media, so if you need to make a copy of the
CD you log onto their web site where you give them the cd's
id code, this then enables you to copy the CD via sofware
on their web site.
Once this code is entered it is then removed from their data base
preventing further copies being made.

i personally think its the right choice to join Sony. Sony do make nice website and up to date info for fans, they release album pretti precise to the day they release to the fans be4 the cd is release, so i think its a good choice. EMI just don't know how to treasure their artist

I'm alive, and I do read the forum on occasion, but I dont always reply to topics because usually I dont like repeating the same things someone has said, or if I have a differing opinion I've learned to keep that to myself.

Plus my schedule is too busy with school, and gigs to devote as much time as I used to, or as some still do to the forum, but I'm still a fan, and still support the forum, see... "GOOOO FORUM!!!!" :user:

Hi All,

Great to hear news on VM as always - and good to know that Rijko is still a driving force in the forum. Sony has a mixed track record with artist web sites (look at www.anggun.com - I bet it hasn't been updated in 2 years!) but probably a sensible move. Sony also produce SACD's for their major artsists under all labels so it will be interesting to see which whether we can get an SACD soon - that would be cool.

Any news recently on the Bio?

Regards,

Lorjou.
