Actually it was a new CD Release

Post by Jafo C ! Null »

Hi:

I've just received an e-mail notification from http://www.cdzone.co.uk that an album called 'Vanessa Mae' is now in stores..

It is imported from Niederlands.. and well the track listing is the same as the one in amazon.com....

regards,

Hmm that is strange :?

Why would they release another CD with previous songs on it?

It is just a way for EMI to keep on making money out of our girl. EMI can not release a cd with new music because Vanessa-Mae is not signed anymore to EMI. So they make a kind of best of album with oldies.

You'd think that if they wanted to make money, they would release Storm World Tour :?

Thanks, for the note.
A compilation album (with songs from The violin player & Storm).

Someone has bought it.
Review, by: P. Garbutt "strangeparadise".

"This is just another compilation album for those of you fans perhaps wondering what it contains in the way of tracks, its simply tracks from her first two EMI albums only,"the violin player" and "storm",nothing new,not the long awaited next album we have all been waiting for since 2004!"

As I only found out quite recently, Disky Communications Europe released a new collection cd titled 'Vanessa-Mae' in license from EMI Records on June 1, 2006. The track listing with titles from Vanessa-Mae's albums 'The Violin Player,' The Classical Collection 1' and 'Storm' is as follows:

1 - Red Hot Symphonic
2 - Widescreen
3- City Theme
4 - A Poets Quest
5 - Bach Street Prelude
6 - Contradanza
7 - Aurora
8 - I Am A Doun
9 - Summer Haze
10 - The Blessed Spirit
11 - Theme From Caravans
12 - Tequila Mocking Bird
13 - Jazz will Eat Itself
14 - Warm Air

There is nothing new on this album, but neverthless I consider it as a 'must have' in my collection. A photo of Vanessa-Mae at the free concert for promotion of 'Subject To change' on Trafalgar Square on May 15, 2001 was used for the cover of this compilation.

Someone should remind EMI that in 2000 they released the Classical Collection "Part 1". :?:

ETMI did the release of the Classical Collection part 1 in special license from Vanessa-Mae. This was a one time release; EMI does not have the copyrights on Vanessa-Mae's kiddy recordings.

Yes, but my point was that if there was a Part 1 there was an intention implied for a Part 2 to follow.
