I take notice of what you've said. I conclude that we do not agree and never will.

Just one small remark on specialists. Sometimes two equally acknowledged specialists (physicians) come to diagnose different perspectives for changes of curing for the same patient. I know of people that are stil alive and cured now after going through heavy surgical treatment, where some doctors told them already two years ago that they would die within weeks.

No, you haven't specifically showed any disrespect towards my opinion. That is true. However, your argumentation can only lead to one result in this discusion; in your opinion it means that you are the violinist and in the end I will have to say: of course you are rtight, how could I possible miss it all that time. Stupid of me: I should have believed you right from the start.

Sorry Benjamin, that is not my fun in a friendly exchange of ideas and opinions.

I'm not asking anyone to bow down to my opinions, or because i have a little knowledge on a particular subject.

Rijko, I never said that all she does is mime...I'm saying that in THIS particular performance (if you go back and read my posts thats what I've said) she mimed all the pop songs. I'm not claiming to be an expert, and I'm not taking sides as I've said before. If she plays live...Then In my review ill say she played live, if she mimed, then in my review I'll say she mimed. Honestly, and Rijko AND Benji, I told both of you this before...It really doesn't bother me if she mimes or not. The only reason I'm still taking part in this discussion is to maybe say something that will spark something in Rijko to notice that hey...in this Alternative Classical Concert Mae did in fact mime.

But this analogy doesn't apply here. In my analogy the specialist I was referring to was Kevin, and the observer was you. If you're going to use the analogy above then that means that you have just as much as experience with acoustic and electric violins, along with pickups, amplifiers, and mixers as Kevin does. But that's not the case.

No, that's not my point. My point is that given the fact that I am a violinist means that there's more of a possibility that I might have a point given my experience. I don't want you to say .. "Benji is right because he's a violinist" .. but rather "Although I may disagree, I can't rule out the possibility that Benji/Kevin may be right given their experience in this particular field." The same applies to me .. I don't think you'd want me to say "Rijko is right because he's actually attended Vanessa-Mae concerts", but rather "I may disagree with Rijko, but I can't rule out the possibility he's right due to the fact that he has attended Vanessa-Mae concerts, and I have not."

Is it possible that I'm wrong about my observation of her miming? Yes. I want to make that clear, yes it is possible because believing otherwise would mean that I have closed my mind to other possibilities. However, I don't believe I'm wrong given the evidence I've seen/heard.

It's not about your opinion being good as mine or vice versa. Rather, it's about backing that opinion up with factual information. During this debate, your primary defense was: "Vanessa has stated that she always plays live in concerts where people pay to see her." However, the problem with your defense is that there are exceptions to everything. The second problem is that the statement doesn't refer to this concert in particular, especially considering the unexpected turns it took.

I was lookong the Concert now for several days having my attention on the miming of Vanessa waiting for any signs of her nostrils. Well the only thing that I can say is, that when she's miming she's miming excellent. In the RedHot Video with lower Quality I thought that she was miming as Sarah Chang, because she seemed to have great tEARbags with puppetlike mimings. But in the Redhot Video in Hi-Quality the tEARbags seemed dissapearing and the only remarkable thing is, that on the end of REdhot, she sighs "Hellmut" - whats my Name. What a coincidence.

Kevin, I understand your position! If I gave you any wrong impression about my appreciation for your contributions then I apologise for that. It was certainly not my intention.

This has to be, and will be, my final statement in this debate.

I have taken notice of all arguments of Benjamin and Kevin and I respect both your views on this. I examined the video and the audio of the concert carefully and I see no reason, even not after reading your views, to change my conclusion.

In my view, Vanessa-Mae plays live thoughout the whole concert.

Could I be wrong also? Yes of course, but I see no reason to believe that I am.

I said in one of our earlier disussion that I don't belive that we can't really judge based on a sound recording or avideotape. Sounds are almost always edited, even when the booklet claims it to be a live recording.

You can only really judge if you were there. Because none of us were there, I see no reason why I shouldn't trust our Vanessa-Mae. This all said after carefully examining the video of this and other concerts. In this I have never found nor heard any sign that could make me change my mind.

Also, I'm basically finished commenting on this matter because its going nowhere, but showing a few things about a few people. So there is no need for me to comment any further.

I feel I have to make one remark.

Kevin has ondoubtedly an infinite more knowlegde about electric violins, amplifiers and additional equipmet than I have. The same hold for Benjamin probable. It would be very stupid of me to deny that.

But that does still not lead me to the a conclusion that you both are also right when it comes to observing any miming practice on the side of our Vanessa-Mae.

I stick to my own observations, ideas and views on this. I feel certain enough on this to trust my own capabilities in listening and observing misic and musicians.

Benjamin, Kevin I hope that you both can accept and respect that I honestly believe this and that you will not consider this as only an opinion of a stubborn blind fan and that I just refuses to see your points, simply because I only wan to believe that she played live.

I honestly believe and mean what I argued on this topic!!
