Well Boys and Girls,

Vanessa-Mae has stated many times in interviews, that she is not planning to have children any time soon. She has said that she would like to work until the age of 60. That it would not be fair to have children while she is still active in music, concerts, recording, etc.

At age 32, Vanessa; while still able to have children of her own; really has past the prime age for parenthood. (Late teens and early twenty's.) She has mentioned though, the possibility of adopting a child. This, to me, sounds more like the course that is likely to be taken if she really wants children.

Vanessa, herself, is adopted. So she knows very well how things go first hand. Her Mother, Pamela, was a control freak, and very goal oriented in bring up her daughter. This is clearly demonstrated by her Mother's statement that she would always love Vanessa, because she was her daughter, but Vanessa would not be Special to her unless she played the violin well. There are many other statements concerning Pamela's treatment of her daughter, such as condoning Vanessa's violin teachers slapping her in the face, if they thought she was not putting 100% into her playing. There are many other things as well!

Vanessa, has said, she would not bring her child up in that manner. She would allow the child to have friends and do many of the things that Vanessa, herself, was denied.

Vanessa, also knows the unconditional love and caring of an adoptive parent. This is shown by her loving relationship with her "Second Father", Graham Nicholson, because of all the love and encouragement he has given her, without expecting anything material in return, except Vanessa's love.

Vanessa considers Graham, to be her "Real" Father. Vanessa maintains a very close relationship with him. Whereas there isn't any contact with her own Mother, Pamela, by her Mothers own wishes. This has been going on for 12 years now and Vanessa knows it is final!

I am certain that Vanessa knows Lionel's feelings very well concerning children and she feels any child they would adopt would have the same true loving relationship between Vanessa and Lionel that exists between Vanessa and her adoptive Father, Graham.

This is why I think if there are to be any children in Vanessa-Mae's life, they will be adopted children.......And there isn't ANYTHING wrong with that!

This is my opinion. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this issue.
