Today, I received a message from our much beloved Vanessa-Mae with feedback to our presents for her 28th bday and our list of questions.
The list of questions was as follows and Vanessa-Mae's comments or comments on her behalf are in bold!
Question 1
There is confusion among us about your position with Sony BMG Masterworks, former Sony Classics, as result of the merge between Sony Music and BMG! We know that several artists were re-assigned to other labels that are too part of Sony BMG Music Entertainment. What is your position; are you still under a contract with Sony? Under what label will your new album be released?
Vanessa-Mae and her management are currently considering who is the best team for her next album.
Question 2
Are you currently working on a new album? Can you tell us something on what kind of album it will be and is there already a schedule for the release? Will it be released in the USA and Canada too?
Vanessa-Mae's plan for her new album is to take a more classical and orchestral approach with inspiration from the great ballet and opera themes. It will not be released before next Autumn.
Question3
Are you planning a tour already to support the new album? Hopefully the coming tour will see more concert dates as many of us did not find the opportunity to see you live during the Choreography tour! Please come to the USA, Canada and South America too, especially to Buenos Aires, Argentina!!!!!!
Vanessa-Mae will be sure to tour once the new album is released and she would like visit as many countries as possible.
Question 4
Your autobiography would be very much welcomed by us. Can you give us an update on the progress of your work on the book?
The release of Vanessa-Mae's biography was halted out of respect for the privacy of her parents' divorce a few years ago but there is now so much to add since the first draft in 2001. Vanessa-Mae wants to speak about her life so will be gearing up to add more chapters after the release of her next album.
Question5
What do you consider your greatest achievement in your career so far? What result fills you with the greatest pride and satisfaction?
Vanessa-Mae considers surviving the manic teenage years of her career, an achievement
Question 6
What is your definition of ‘the greatest and best violinist of the world?’ Do you think you come close according to your standards?
The best violinist in the world to Vanessa-Mae was always Heifetz.
Question7
As your fans we feel so much pride on you, your music and all you have done and achieved the past 10-12 years! We wonder, do you have special feelings about having such loyal and dedicated fans who put so much effort in spoiling you on your birthday now already for the 7th time? Do you have a personal message for us?
Vanessa-Mae says: "Without a listener, there is no music. So thank you so much for your support over the years and listening to my music through the seasons. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and I will be in studio next year working on bringing more music to you soon."
Question8
Last summer, we read in a newspaper that you donated the Zeta violin that you used during ‘The Storm On World Tour’ for auction to support the struggle against breast cancer, a charity that we know is close to your heart. We noticed that the violin did not meet the reserve price. In the meantime, has the instrument been put on to another auction and has it been sold indeed, and how much money did it raise?
Vanessa-Mae's electric violin was successfully sold in a private sale to aid charity.
Question9
What do the symbols on the China Girl Album mean?
The characters in red are from a real stamp that Vanessa-Mae had made of her Chinese name when she was on tour in China.
Question 10
Will your short movie 'The Violin Fantasy' ever be available to buy again?
Vanessa-Mae hopes that one day her promotional videos, including The Violin Fantasy, will be publicly available.
Question11
As we all know you visit many countries and venues across the world, however it seems you very rarely play in the UK apart from London. Are you going to visit more English venues? And why have you only played in Liverpool three times dating back to 1997 and 1998, are the venues or audience too small?
A tour's structure is governed by so many factors but Vanessa-Mae wishes she could visit everywhere.
Question12
How long does it take to make an album? Who writes the score for each track? Have you ever solely written the score for one of your pieces, obviously they are adapted from classical pieces, I mean the modern twist. Also, I can’t find the sheet music for your version of The Devil’s Trill, any change of getting it?!! Can I also have the notes for the Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve, PLEASE? I love that song and I want to attempt the violin part because it’s ace! Can you do that for me, as I know you can play this track as I saw it on an interview?
Vanessa-Mae enjoys contributing as a co-writer but feels that playing is her strength. Many of her lead violin parts on her albums have never been noted down.
Question 13
Could you please give us an update on your London home renovation: i.e. expected completion date; do you still plan to sell and move out of London; if so, when and where; how would the move affect your functioning with your management office?
Vanessa-Mae has had bad luck with bad builders and the last team were more familiar with legal loopholes than building work. Her love is the mountains and as long as she is 2 hours away from an airport, a move abroad will not negatively affect her work.
Question 14
How is your dog Gaspard? Do you have any other pets? If so, what and how many of each?
Gaspard is currently a healthy 25kg mass of slobber and muscle, thank you. Apart from a fish, Vanessa-Mae has no other pets although she would love to rescue a hedgehog.
Question 15
What make of automobiles do you own and how many of each?
Vanessa-Mae has a few cars but her current favourite is an Audi S6 Avant. She also still enjoys the odd spin in her Lotus Elise that was the first car she learnt to drive.
Question 16
Did you buy any furs on your last visit to Russia? If so, what did you buy?
Vanessa-Mae did not buy anything during her last visit to Russia but she did take a fun overnight train ride from Moscow to St Petersburg.
Vanessa-Mae thanks us all for our dedication!

Re: your questions
This is a platform for fans of Vanessa-Mae. In my opinion, calling her words rubbish and 'crap' is completely out of line, inappropriate and insulting towards Vanessa-Mae.
I ask the administrator and/or moderators to take adequate action to have member jenleex to rephrase his words or , if necessary' delete his post.
