re: My favorite Vanessa Mae music video, and Why.

My favorite Vanessa-Mae music video is the very first one I saw and heard; namely the Toccata and Fugue live at the Berlin Philharmonic.
Once I had discovered her, I cannot get enough of her music.

Now the reason why:
My description of this; to me first piece of music from her tells the whole story of why I really love her performance and style.

Now comes the description:
First from the moment the video starts and she looks up, you can see the supreme confidence she has in her ability. Next is the full, straight armed sweep of the bow to the playing position. Then it is the playing style and especially in that the camera focuses on the left hand fingering the strings. ( I love watching this, someone who really knows how to make beautiful music and has such a fine technique.)
.....The playing continues and the enjoyment rises. Then she gives a sly glance back at the orchestra. Now comes my favorite parts; as she starts playing faster, she gives a little smile towards the conductor, then shortly stops playing and looks back at the orchestra. Then with a toss of her head and a nice smile to the audience, she begins again to play. What style she has! What playing technique!

I love the view from the rear of the orchestra when she makes another straight armed sweep of the bow to the playing position. She then makes her traditional comment " Fasten Your Seat-belts ".

Now it gets even better.As she is playing, she turns and again looks back at the orchestra. Now you see the smile again, and a very confident glance and nice smile to the audience. She move her head and body to the beat of the music. And the wonderful playing goes on. Her body language is supreme.

Then finally; she finishes up with another sweep of the bow. The music stops, she smiles, thanks the orchestra and conductor and bows.

What a superb musician! What talent! What a performer!

I watch this piece nearly every day. I love it. It makes you feel so good inside.

I hope you enjoyed my interpretation of why I am a Vanessa-Mae fan. I only wish I had discovered her sooner.

Yes.I undrstand you Carroll very good!!!! I love Vanessa Mae and her playing,her sincerity and her original style!!! My lovely video is maybe where she plays Fantasy on a theme from Caravans! She so sweet,so beautiful in this live performance video! Amazing talent and sincere sound of her playing! I very love her violins sounds.She has so beautiful sound and in fact,she creates that sound.Also I love how she plays The Four Seasons and Scottish Phantasy by M.Bruch.In general,I love all her videos and creations.Vanessa Mae for me are source of inspiration!!! Among other things, I see you are an observer; as I am myself. That just listening to the music is not enough. You and I, we need to see the performance. Even more enjoyment is there. In your case there is another reason, and that is watching her technical method of playing. This to help you with your own musical endeavor, the Cello. May she continue to be an inspiration to you.

Carroll,yes you are right.I want to see her live concerts but to travel is a little bit too expensive to me..This crisis is so hard where I live..But I hope,I will see her one day, really.Thank you Carroll for your wishes to me in my playing Cello!
