Many things have been discussed in this Forum. Vanessa-Mae's wonderful violin playing talent. Her great and entertaining performances. Her ability and style. Her interpretation of various pieces of music; ( Which, by the way, I have seen others try to preform as Vanessa does, but with varying degrees of success. )

But....There is one thing that hardly needs mentioning, and that is her Physical Beauty.

Now, to me, it is her Dimple I find gives her that certain touch. I think it gives her visage a uniqueness, and adds to her Beauty.

The Journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, in an article entitled: " The Facial Dimple - Clinical Study " describes it as a small hollow, especially in cheek or chin. However it also says, The Chinese view it as the dramatic picture of a whirlpool with its ever present ripples. The Orientals view this anatomic endowment with Good Will and their women desire it. The Chinese associate the Dimple with a pretty fave. It has been accepted that a Dimpled wife brings Happiness and Good Luck.

During a 17 month study, 8840 women in Singapore, were examined. The results showed the incidence of Dimples to be roughly 1 : 18. Also 59 per cent were bilateral. 34 per cent were for a single Dimple. Of that 34 per cent, the single Dimple is more commonly ( 60 per cent ) on the left side of the face. This makes Vanessa-Mae different from the average.

Also " Wise Geek " says: " however, some people only have a Dimple on one side; this physical trait can actually be rather endearing." I certainly believe this to be true of Vanessa-Mae.

All in all, she is a Beautiful and Talented woman.

Yes, the one sided dimple of Vanessa-Mae makes her very cute and disarming.

Of course we discussed Vanessa-Mae's beauty, including her one sided dimple. I guess these discussion were in the early days of the forum in 2000, and the posts have probable been lost between various forums updates.

It is great to see it mention again for discussion. Vanessa-Mae's one sided dimple would be a great topic for my monthly Vanessa-Mae Chronicle.

Apparently, the idea is taken already now. Would be great to have a story from a guest writer!

The photos are great. I especially like the first one. The lighting is just right to show both sides of her face, and the shadow on the right side highlights
her Dimple perfectly.

I really find the study " The Facial Dimple - Clinical Study " very interesting. Thanks for bringing this up!

I agree all these photos are great, and the # 1 is among my favorites as well. Vanessa-Mae looks so beautiful there.
