Toccata and Fugue without organ
About 5 years ago, I had a ringtone of Vanessa Mae playing the beginning of Toccata and Fugue. It sounded very crisp, like a studio recording, not live. It also did not begin with an organ, it was only her playing a violin. I would like to find this full song to purchase.
Does anyone know which album or single has Vanessa Mae playing Toccata and Fugue without the organ opening?
Thanks,
Daniel Clark

Re: Toccata and Fugue without organ
Hello Skykighter,
First, may I say welcome to the Vanessa-Mae Fans Forum. I hope you will enjoy it here and find something of interest.
I have 46 Vanessa-Mae CD albums, including many singles and promo disks. Of these at least 15 or more have the "Toccata and Fugue In D Minor". Everyone I possess has the organ opening. I have 5 Vanessa-Mae full length videos, and the only place I could find that piece without the organ introduction was on the video, "Storm on World Tour" at 51:43. I have 5 more cd's coming but I was unable to help you except on that one video.
If anyone can help you it will be Xanthippe, he is THE expert. I am sure he will reply to you soon. He monitors VMF daily.
And again welcome!

Re: Toccata and Fugue without organ
I think only in some live recordings that the opening is without the organ. In the live Berlin philharmonie video also an organ is used, though.
BTW, a ring-tone is not an official version of the song. Who knows what the creator did for sound editing!

Re: Toccata and Fugue without organ
Toccata & Fugue Lectroluv mix has Vanessa-Mae playing the very first few bars alongside the organ. This is unique only to this particular version.

Hi Benji,
Of course you are right. When I made my post above I did not have that CD, but I just received it two days ago. The "Toccata & Fugue, The Mixes".
