Vanessa-Mae in Grozny-city on October 5

Vanessa-Mae performed in Chechnya, on October 5 at the celebration for the festive opening of a glitzy new skyscraper complex, Grozny-City, in the capital, an event that coincided with the 35th birthday of the controversial Chechen president Kadyrov. Other invited celebrities that attended the celebrations were two-time Oscar winning actor Hilary Swank and action movie star Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Shakira, Eva Mendes and Kevin Costner did not reportedly appear at the event, despite the fact that Chechen authorities claimed that they were invited. According to unconfirmed rumours, Vanessa-Mae was said to receive USD 500,000 for her performance.

I find that remark highly disrespectful toward Vanessa-Mae! What performances she and her management decide on is strictly up to them. Granted, you seem to have a grievance with the leader of Chechnya, of whom I know nothing about. I never follow World news, ever! I am only interested in Vanessa-Mae, and this is an organization of her fans. Not a place to disparage her. If you are determined to complain about Vanessa, then write to her Management!

Thank you all for this video and news ! Vanessa-Mae really looks great but at the same time I see, maybe it's only my opinion that Vanessa is a little bit tired.But I am happy to see her again in concert.About place where Vanessa-Mae plays,there's no problem.Musicians are Peace Ambassadors in whole World and they can play where they choose to play.Vanessa-Mae is very lucky,if She recieve 500'000 USD(Wow, how much !!!) for this performance.
One thing,I would really want to hear some new pieces from Vanessa-Mae,maybe She will record something in future.Or play some classical pieces again,like played in '90s.That would be good.But Her playing is admirable,violin really sings from Her hands.I wish Vanessa-Mae all the best and to keep be in good shape and perform more and more good Music !
