Here is the text of the letter that I sent to Vanessa-Mae for her bday, as well as the list of questions and list of contributors. Hopefully, we will receive her feedback soon.


Dearest Vanessa-Mae,

A VERY HAPPY 34th BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!! WE ALL LOVE YOU AND HOPE THAT YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!!

‘The Vanessa-Mae Fans Forum’ (http://forum.vanessamae.org), wish you all the best on the occasion of your 34th birthday. We hope that you enjoy a fantastic day with Lionel, of course, and Maximus, family and close friends - make this day, your day!!

The coming year 2013 will be a crucial for you in order to fulfill your Olympic dream and ambition. As loyal and devoted fans, we all hope that you will succeed in qualifying for the games in Sochi, and we wish all possible succes for you.

Moreover, we certainly hope that the experience of going through the intensive training and the ultimate participation in the games will be fruitfull for new musical creativity, and that a period of great and ongoing successes will be ahead of you. Of course, this is what we hope for, because all your fans worldwide are anxiously looking forward to new music from you. And we all have the wish to see you live in concert then too, of course. We hope for many concerts on all continents.

As birthday gift for you this year, we have a drawing on canvas, painted from a photo that was made during one of your concerts in 2010. You'll find it in the cylindrical case. We certainly hope that you like it!

Please be careful in hitting the snowy slopes of the Alps during training; we all keep our fingers crossed for you to stay healthy and free from injuries.

LIST WITH QUESTIONS AND ISSUES SUBMITTED BY FANS

1 The first question is how are you and Lionel doing? Are you both happy, and in good physical and mental condition? How is Maximus doing.

2 Last year you mentioned to us that you lost Gaspard to lymphoma. We were very sorry to hear that! Do you plan to get Maximus a new play pal? Maybe you already did?

3 You said a long time ago in a newspaper article, that you wanted your Guadagnini acoustic violin to buried with you. Is this still true?

4 We read on an Official British Business Site, that you had closed and dissolved your personal Business Office “Fretless.” Is this true? If so, did you open another one under another name? In The UK or Switzerland?

5 A New York newspaper recently claimed that you were looking for an apartment to rent or buy on the New Yorks West Side. Is that a correct story? Does that mean that you are planning more activities, including concerts, in the USA in the near future?

6 Did you have any injuries, broken anything, because of skiing and training lately? Please be careful, we are always anxious for your well being.

7 We are interested to follow your road to the Olympics more closely. No doubt that you need to do qualification tournaments? Can you give us some dates you are aiming for so that we can keep an eye on television broadcasts of these events?



8 Your official website at http://www.vanessa-mae.com seems inactive currently. Moreover, on accessing the homepage of the site, many of us receive the message that the site is blocked due to malignant content and viruses. Are you, and your management, aware of this?

9 Do you have any concerts planned? We read about upcoming shows in Moscow and St Petersburg for December? Russia seems to be a favourite country to perform for you. Is there any particular reason for this to go to Moscow and St Petersburg again in December for the third or fourth year in a row?

10 The final question, what did Lionel give you for your 34th birthday present? Of course if you find it too private, then please skip this question.

CarolTowerCX also sent a card to me to include in the parcel. Unfortunately, my scanner gave problems at the end and I had no time anymore to finish the scanning of the card. Sorry for that the card can not be shown here because of this failure.

I am sure Vanessa-Mae will like everything we did and prepared for her again this year. Let's hope she will be able to to provide us with her feedback soon.

Of course, I will post her answers to our questions here in this forum as soon as I get them!
