Glenn,
As far as I know, Vanessa-Mae is already a superstar in Asia. She is very famous there and sales are quite good.
I can't judge her changes in the USA, but I see what you mean. I suppose that is why EMI America is reserved in releasing STC without a long term personal pressence of Vanessa-Mae herself in the USA. Probably, she doesn't want that herself.
As for changing record company. I think that it might be the best for Vanessa-Mae to stay with EMI. Vanessa-Mae can record pop or classical or whatever she wants, whenever she wants it at EMI. What new company would provide her with the same, without the rights on moneymakers as the Violin Player and The Classical Album 1. These albums were by no doubt Vanessa-Mae's best commercial successes, and these sales might still be better than the sales of her more recent albums. At least that is my impression; maybe I am wrong!!
A new record company would have to take a risk in giving Vanessa-Mae the same facilities.
OK, EMI music has given her a bad support in many aspects, but still they also gave her much freedom. Morover, they have the commercial rights on all her material so far.
Also EMI has the rights on the vanessa-mae.com domain. Are they willing to sell it to another company or to Vanessa-Mae herself f she is leaving EMI. If yes, to what price?
My guess is that Vanessa-Mae will renew her contract with EMI

Okay,
Accoording to the statistics this must be the "hottest" topic at the moment.
But where is it leading to???
Peoples feelings are getting hurt. Toes are being stepped on and nothing is getting done.
As Rijko said lets cooldown for now and leave it be.
Lets get back to real life and be carefull in expressing an opinion cause it might hurt someone :p
