Hello everyone.
As I’ve already said, I’m from Greece. Vanessa Mae was here, in Athens last year (29/9/2001). Here in Greece that was THE EVENT. Of course I was there. It was the greatest concert I’ve ever been. I’ll tell you everything.
The concert took place at Lycabetus, in Athens. (Lycabetus is a hill in the middle of Athens. On the top there is a theater on the rocks from where you see a great view). The scenery was the best! I couldn’t believe I was there!
Actually I went very close to the stage and VANESSA was 1-2m in front of me!
VANESSA came on the stage and she said ‘kalispera’ in greek language (kalispera : have a nice evening).
SHE was the princess!
SHE started with ‘Art Of War’. Before every track she explained something about it.
I can tell you what she told us as I remember :
Before Toccata and Fugue : ‘I played this song 7 years ago and I’m sure you all know it…’
Before Destiny : ‘The next song is from my new album, Subject to change, Destiny. The inspiration for this song came last summer here, in Greece…’. ( in fact, SHE had a concert in July 2000 but I missed it because of school exams).
All the time SHE was playing and laughing! It was great! I wish you were there!
BUT that’s not the end…
She used 4 violins. The white one(Storm), the classical one, the new one(Subject To Change) and a grey one(probably it’s the same as ‘daisyhill’ saw in Hong Kong). She used pedals too. I found out what is their use , because of a mistake : SHE left the white violin and she took the grey one, but SHE forgot to move a pedal . So, SHE was playing but we couldn’t hear her violin. When she realized that, she fixed the problem by moving that pedal…
But the most beautiful part was the end.
SHE played the last song and then she left the stage. But we weren’t satisfied , so we started shouting ‘More, More, More…’.
And SHE came back.
SHE played another version of White Bird (I haven’t heard that ever again). Then she left again. But we were shouting : ‘More, More…’
And SHE came back.
SHE played another track but I was too excited to understand which was. Then she left again. But we insisted ‘More, More…’
And SHE came back. (I will never forget that. Nobody would do that)
SHE came in front of the stage and SHE asked : ‘YOU WANT MORE??’
we answered : Yeeeeeeeeeeeeees!
SHE asked again : ‘WHAT DO YOU WANT??’
one of the crowd shouted : ‘we want Storm!!!’
SHE said then : ‘SO, YOU WANT STORM?? STORM, THEN!!’ and SHE played the best Storm I’ve ever heard… Thank you Vanessa!!!
After the end, all the others left and we were 10 fans left hoping for an autograph (although someone told us she had left). We were waiting for an hour
And SHE gave autographs by HERSELF!!!!!!!!
I met HER! SHE touched my hand! SHE spoke to me! SHE signed on my CDs and on my shirt!! Imagine that!!! (next time I will take my violin to sign on!)

Vanessa-Mae obviously enjoyed herself at her cocert in Greece.
Since you were so close to the stage, mabe you can tell something more. How was she dressed? How was her face, her make-up? Did she had high heels?
After the concert at the small signing session: how was she dressed then, was her face made up again? And what about her hair?
Hope you can give some details on htis.

Hello Rijko Ebens. Yes , I think Vanessa enjoyed the concert a lot. I wish I could follow her all over the world just to see her performing on stage! Of course her dressing , her make up and generally her entire appearance was incredible, excellent. I don’t really remember everything. She changed clothes 3 times during the concert. The best was the last : low black trousers and a short shell. Of course she had very high heels and I really saw that when I met her. At the backstage she had changed clothes again : black trousers and a turquoise blue shirt. Her hair was wavy and she was wearing a perfect aroma. SHE took my breath away. Her beauty is incomparable, breathtaking, divine, godlike, unrivalled, insuperable, inexpressive!!! Everything I say is less than the reality. She is so simple, so sweat, so………
Oh, about her make up, I’m a 19-year old boy. Where should I know? I was looking her eyes, not her make up.
I can only say she was a goddess!!! SHE is the prettiest woman I’ve ever seen!!!

I agree with you on Vanessa-Mae. Words are not enough to describe her music, her beauty and her personality.
Vanessa-Mae is the most beautiful woman in the world because in her beauty she expresses so much personality, energy and devotion. She believes in herself and that and she shows it: that makes her the beautiful and interesting girl she is.

HI! Thanks for answering! haboek, photos were prohibited . BUT i've got the most precious thing : her autographs by her own hand. one on the CD of Storm, one on the leaflet of Subject to Change and one on the shirt i was wearing that unforgettable night.
Also, i know that a TV channel here in Greece had made video recording. i'm trying to get it. If so, i'll tell you...

Gosh, I wish I was there!
I have been V-mae's fan for quite sometimes, but haven't had an opportunity to attend any of her concert. I'm living in the US and that's probably the problem. However, by reading about your experience, I can tell how exiting it must be. I hope that one day I'll have that chance
