Contradanza - Spanish release

I bought via ebay a Spanish 1996 single release of Contradanza. I think it was included in the album 'The Violin Player.'

The back cover of the cardboard sleeve says: 'Incluido en su album 'THE VIOLIN PLAYER.'

Vanessa-Mae is shown wearing a nice grey light brown suit and a realy rely gorgeous white long sleeved shirt.

There are really nice Fotos on Vanessa2, but I can't find the scans of Contreadanza.

I've found the scans and found out the possibility for a slideshow. Friendly picture of Vanessa meaning
"lets have a walk to Cafe 1930"

I like Contradanza very much. It has a great Dynamic.

Contradanza is a wonderful song; it has great dynamics indeed.

I think the cover photo is really nice. A girl dressed like that, looking and smiling the way she does, must be a nice and interesting person.

Contradanza's an awesome song! I've been practicing violin 15 years and plan to play contradanza with my band for the highschool "battle of the bands."
Problem: My violin is a 150 year old classical violin, i.e. wood, non-electric. I'm wondering if there are any violinists out there who can recommend a good pick-up for me that is in-obtrusive, inexpensive, but still has good quality?

Hello VW,

There are pickup bridges for violin readily available but I’d be very reluctant messing with a 150 year old instrument.
An option is at http://www.guitarelectronics.com/banjo.html at the very bottom of the page are sensors that will fit within your existing bridge. Risk is that the fit may not be great and may well change the tone of your violin (it changes the resonant path of the sound from the string through the bridge into the violin body). But at US$80 it’s worth a try.

My overall recommendation is to have it either electrified by a professional, buy an electric violin or,… my No 1 recommendation,.. use a clip on microphone pickup.

A very budget choice is to clip a liny Tie-clip microphone to you bridge and give it a try. It might actually work out well.
Radio shack sells this and this which may do fine. And if they don't work out you can return them or use for another purpose.

I just wouldn’t mess physically with the bridge or tailpiece.

Vaguely...

this is somethin I can help ya with...

I prefer not to play accoustic violin when playing anything besides classical, however if that instance arrives, i usually do the following.

*Use a lavalier mic, which is what you would use for voice, and i just clip it onto the bridge, that way i can go wireless.
*Use a headset, Get the kind u see people like Britney spears using (Vanessa did this for her Storm at the brits), just use it, and it will pick up well, try not to make any vocal noises, I had a bad experience with one.
*Use a pick-up, i dont own one, however i have access to some,the fischmann and barcus berry pickups are the better that I've played with because there is no modification to your instrument.
*Use an electric, see if there is a guitar shop with electric violins. I strongly urge you to stay away from the FENDER electric brand (the one most guitar shops have), its a very disgusting instrument (mostly because fender makes guitars, not violins)
*Use a mic, I dont prefer this because it doesn't give me the freedom my electrics do, however if all else fails, you have this option.

Im sure your school has a lavalier mic, you could ask someone to borrow it for the performance.

Thanks very much! I think I will test out the clip on mics first, and if that fails, try one of the other many suggestions you have given me.
