Not to be a brat and start out my membership with a bunch of questions :p, but I was wondering if/when Vanessa-Mae might come to the Great White North (aka Canada) for concerts and tours and such? We really do have modern concert halls (not giant igloos)! :;):
I'm a big fan of her music (wonderful for driving!), and I'd love to see her perform live...
Welcome in this forum and feel free to ask any questions that you might have regarding Vanessa-Mae. We also have an off-topic board for none Vanessa-Mae related issues, so this forum is definitely the place to be!!
As far as I know, Vanessa-Mae has no concert or tour plans for 2003. However, she has not visited in the USA and Canada for promotion of her latest album STC yet. Actually, STC has not been released in the USA and I am not sure whether it is available in Canada already.
So it might be possible that she will come to Canada and the USA in 2003, but nothing of that kind has been announced yet.
All we know is that Vanessa-Mae will record a new classical album in 2003 that will be released after the summer in Europe.
Hey welcome to the forum!!
I'm from Canada too and I'm 100% sure that the album STC has already been released in Canada ( like last year).
Unfortunately I don't think there's much of a demand for VM here in Canada or the U.S. So I don't think she'd ever do a concert here. It seems like she's just a lot more popular in Europe and Asia.
I have a question for the European and Asian members on this forum: How popular and famous is VM over there? Like if she was walking down the street some where in Germany, or Austria would she instantly be recognized?
I wish VM was more popular here in North America. I absolutely love her music but I guess people here would rather listen to crap like Eminem or Ja Rule (No offense to anyone  )
Vanessa-Mae is of course very popular in the UK and also in Germany. By no doubt, a lot of of people will recognise her on the street, but there is absdolutely no Vanessa-Mae mania going on. Vanessa-Mae succeeded in keeping her private life out of the tabloids. Moreover, she is not as interesting to the gossip press as celebrities like Madonna, Michael Jackson and Jennifer Lopez who all try to gain attention and publicity with details of their private life and business affairs. Vanessa-Mae avoids all this type of attention.
Vanessa-Mae is not very well known in my country the Netherlands. she received a golden disc award for the Violin Player and also the CA1 sold rather well, but sales of her albums since then are not sensational. Also, Vanessa-Mae hasn't been on Dutch tv since December 1998 when a channel broadcasted the 'Storm on World Tour' documentary. She visited our country twice for a concert in 1996 and 1998.
Vanessa-Mae will be hardly recognised here on the streets. But I am sure that all her albums sell in quite regular numbers throughout the year, although not sufficient to reach the charts.
I see that there are more Canadian fans here, which is great because I am from Canada too... What province are you guys from?... I am from Ontario. And we do have STC here in Canada cuz I bought it not too long ago.
Hey another Canuck!!
I'm from Ontario too. St. Catharines, to be exact, which is about 90km South of Toronto (GO LEAFS GO!!! ).
I always like to wonder where everyone else is from on this forum. It's cool to meet people from all over Europe and Asia or South America on this site but it's also pretty neat to meet another fellow Canadian.
I didn't know other Canadians supported Vanessa Mae, if only there were a lot more would she do a concert here. I really wish North Americans would open their minds up a little and experience more different cultures and kinds of music.
Yup, another Canuck and a big Leafs fan. I am in Richmond Hill... about an hr drive away from Toronto.
And I've got to agree thats its pretty cool to see other ppl around the world that are fans of Vanessa-Mae
I really want a concert here too... everyone that I know are hooked onto Vanessa-Mae (mainly cuz I got them all hooked on her ) and they would also like a concert.
Subject to Change is definitely available in Canada; I bought it! I've actually been listening to nothing but Vanessa-Mae in my car for about five months now...
Unfortunately, I suspect that she's not that popular here in Alberta...considering when I picked up Storm, Subject to Change, and The Original Four Seasons in August, I cleared out the store's Vanessa-Mae stock! It's too bad (for me), because her lower profile means that even if she does come to Canada, chances are she won't visit here.
Hello, Aubretia!!! Welcome!
Hope that you’ll find a great company here.
About your question, here in Greece I think that if Vanessa was walking on the streets of Athens, there would be lots of people who could recognize HER.
I also believe that here, her music is well-known too.
CU!!!

i'm sure VM's popular here in the philippines but of course among young people. i have seen VM imitations here. the first one is young girl who plays in a shampoo commercial a song that sounds like bach st. prelude and the second is a violinist of a local artist who looked like VM in the storm video. :;):
if vm is goin to have a concert in us, would it be anywhere near california.................cuz i really hope she would hav a concert in las vegas or in california.
