I have received a reaction of Vanessa-Mae to our presents that we have sent her on the occasion of her 24th birthday.
That is, I had a fax message in which an assistant of Vanessa-Mae speaks on her behalf. Here is the text of the fax message, which also includes answers to a couple of questions that I asked her:
------------------
Vanessa-Mae would like to thank everyone who contributed to her birthday present and she appreciates all the work that has gone into creating it.
Here are her answers to my questions:
1 official website
We are more than anxious to have this site up and running and are very sorry for the frustration this has caused the fans. Discussions are taking place over the next couple of weeks to improve the current situation with the site. However, there is going to be an update on the site within the next few days. The re-design is currently on hold while new management is being set into place. Again, your patience is appreciated.
2 Subject to change – USA release
So far there isn’t a confirmed release date for this album. As you may know, The ‘Best Of’ was released in the USA in November.
3 Autobiography
There is no planned release date as yet. The project has been put on hold for the time being, while a new album and tour plans are in development.
4 Change of record Company
No details can be disclosed about this
5 Classical Album
All that can be said about the album is that it is going to be recorded next spring
THANK YOU, to you and all forum members for your interest and ongoing support.
---------------------------
Just a few notes as comment.
I think the message clearly shows Vanessa-Mae's reservation when it comes to contacts with fans or media. Basically, she is very distant in this reaction, which was more or less the same the previous two years.
This is her choice and we should respect this and don't expect anymore from her.
Point 1:
I wouldn't be suprised if legal affairs associated with a possible change of record company are important issues that partly cause the bad situation around her website. Afterall, the domain www.vanessa-mae.com is owned by EMI records. This struggle between Vanessa-Mae and EMI could very well be going on for quite some time already and it could in that way explain all the troubles with the site from the launch in May 2001 up till now.
I suppose that all we can do is to be patient. I personally trust her honest and good intentions.
Point 2:
There simply is no better news for all USA fans. I suppose concerts will also not be scheduled as long as the album has not been released there.
Point 3
I suppose we can remove this autobiography from our wish lists. I don't think that it is on top of Vnaessa-Mae's priorities right now. Maybe that is ok, because she has only just turned 24.
Point 4
It is obvous that something is going on in this. I asked her about the rumours and if this was not an issue, she simply could deny it all. t is only natural that she can't say anything on this in this stage. She doesn't want to undermine her position.
Point 5
Vanessa-Mae doesn't want to disclose any information on the contents for this album. All she wants to say that she record it next spring. Well basically we knew that already.

Thank you Rijko, nobody seems to know mQhr about the subject than you, even Vanessa Mae can't hold a candle to you. What a pity, that "Changing Worlds" don't seem to come out. I was waiting and waiting and nEARly wrote an own book to that subject. At least she is a butterfly yet? So have some good up, up 'n downs, amQhr
