lol.. I am from HK too, but I live in Canada now. Do you know what albums or DVD/VHS they have of Vanessa-Mae in HK? Cuz my relatives live there and can get VM stuff that I can’t get in Canada.

I got addicted to her the first time I listened to her music. When my friends and I were driving to summer school, she popped in a Vanessa-Mae cd and played Storm. That was the first song I heard from VM and I loved it and I borrowed all the VM cd's my friend had and I am still addicted to VM

I told my story in this forum before, but since so many new members arrived the past months I will write it down once more.

I first heard of Vanessa-Mae on tv in 1991. Vanessa-Mae did a series of concerts in the UK and the Far East witht the London Mozart Players. This was in 1991 the official Mozart remembrance year. Later in 1992, I saw Vanessa-Mae's cd with the Tchaikovski and Beethoven violin concertos in my record store. I recognised the name of the soloist and decided to buy the cd. I was impressed by her play and her sound. Moreover, I instantly liked the girl on the cover photo.

I decided to follow her career and see how she would deveolop from a child prodigy into a grown-up musician.

I didn't hear form her untill the release of the Violin Player in 1995.

I am a loyal fan since that time.

I learnt a lot about Vanessa-Mae since I became connected to the internet in 1998. I joined this forum in the summer of 2000, shortly after Haidee started it.

I first read an article in Vanessa mae in a newspaper about
7 or 8 years ago. I thought she was pretty cool, but nothing about her really strike me since I never heard her music before and I didn't play an instrument. Then about a few years ago, I was introduced to some really good classical music (The Original four seasons by Vivalidi, oh yes!). So, I wanted more and more! But since I had no idea about who's who in classical music world, I began searching on the internet. Our V-mae was listed as one of the top arstists of the time, so I decided to try her out by downlaoding some of her music. Most of them were from 'The Violin Player' album. The first time I heard it, I was amazed. From then on, I became Vanessa-mae FANATIC!!!. :p

I believe The Violin Player inspired me into her world of musics.

No doubt about it...

I first found out about Vanessa-Mae through the (UK)Press then all those years ago. As I Live in the UK I Watched her first TV perfomance on the BBC's channel 1, Blue Peter when she played STORM, She was amazing (and still is).
With me being into Rock music I lost track of her progress.
Until one day I came across the Violin Player CD (I was hooked). to this day I play this album over and over.
As a birthday gift I was treated with a Ticket for the Vanessa-Mae Storm on Tour at the Birmingham Symphony Hall.
What a night to remember (I thank my parents for that).
I've seen Deep Purple,Pink Floyd, Hawkwind and many more Live. But this seeing Vanessa-Mae was Truely awe-inspiring (I thank Vanessa-Mae for putting up with me).
I am now the proud owner of her CD collection, and I am now eagerly awaiting for Vanessa's new Classical album.
To me Vanessa Mae is like a drug, the more you have the more you want.. :p

Watching the 1995 CNN article about the Violin Player! (*** wink wink ***). A brief clip reminded me of another news story I saw years before (perhaps about Sarah Chang?). So I started searching the Internet. I only found Tommy's site. I didn't hear of Maysan until later when I downloaded a screen saver that had a Maysan movie clip included.

Sad note, I took a four month break from visiting Tommy's site regularly. When I returned, I found out that VM had toured in the USA. :(

The first time i heard about VM was about two summers ago. I saw her playing destiny with her clear violin, and then i fell in love with her. Since then i began to buy her cds and vhs and i began to download her videos from the internet. And later i began toy play her songs with my violin, not as well as VM :p
