Cape Town - Pop violinist Vanessa Mae, who will be the main performer with South African diva Sibongile Khumalo at the official opening of the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Saturday, has extended her Cape Town visit.
Mae told a media briefing at the centre on Friday that she was excited to be in Cape Town.
Although she had visited South Africa on a previous occasion, this was her first visit to Cape Town.
Mae, who arrived earlier in the day, said she had been scheduled to return home on Sunday.
"But having spent a few hours in the city I think I will return home a few days later," Mae said.
She said she would perform "bits from her different" albums, all of them dance orientated and very varied at the opening.
Mae said it was difficult to compare music and politics. Music was about sharing and reaching out. "I'm not interested in politics but interested in music," she said.
