Hi all.
A number of you have spoken to me already, but I will introduce myself fully now!
My name is Laura Wilcockson, I'm 17 years old, and I come from a far off place called Nottingham, UK. I think Arioch knows where it is...
So, I first heard of Vanessa from people before I actually heard her music. I started to play the violin when I was 9 years old, that would have been in 1995, and after I'd been playing for a while, and my family and friends had figured that I wasn't going to give up, people started to mention her. I was like, "erm...nope, never heard of her!" So, I didn't have the internet then, someone gave me a copy of The Violin Player, and I fell in LOVE! But then I lost track for a long time.
I didn't even know she'd brought out anymore CDs. I'd seen her on a few TV shows, but that was about it. Then my Mum (bless her) bought concert tickets for her Subject to Change Tour in Noveber 2001, early Christmas Present it was, and I promptly hunted down all the CDs I could find! Since I was so crazy about her, and my nickname was already "Nora" my friends changed it to "Nora-Mae", a fact I was most pleased about. And now I'm here.
So, my story is a long and boring one, but here it is! Hey, I didn't ask you to read it! lol!

Thanks Laura aka Nora Mae for telling your interesting story of how you became a fan of our Vanessa-Mae.
It is great to have a new and active member in our forum.
I am a really long time fan of Vanessa-Mae. I already heard of her in 1992 well before the release of the Violin Player, and I admire her since then. I possess all her albums, including the original kiddy releases of 1991-1992.
I regualrly buy new items for my still growing collection of Vanessa-Mae collectables at ebay (www.ebay.com)
I've seen Vanessa-Mae live in concert four times, and I hope to see her again for the 5th time as soon as possible.

When I first heard of VP, I had Internet. I did a searches, but only found snips of alt.fan.vanessa-mae (to my knowledge, hasn't existed since :bcry: ). I found an announcement from Tommy Newman that his VM fan site (Vanessa-Mania) was "coming soon". I heard about Maysan years later when downloading a screen saver (who's? Tom something? I have it somewhere.) and a T&F video snip was attached.whygodwhy86 wrote:So, I didn't have the internet then, someone gave me a copy of The Violin Player, and I fell in LOVE!
I bought the VP CD, had a friend record Royal Albert on Disney Channel.
I joined Eilleen's (a.k.a. fuHue) Yahoo Group (third member overall). Haidee (a.k.a. aVentine) visited years later announcing the VMF.

Sorry!
If that is what you believe, you asked for friendship
i gave it.
Besides I think that you are a bit on the young side for me
so please don't worry because i am not interested in you
you are not my type and I don't think that you will ever be.
So once again do not worry! for I did not intend to flirt with you.
Besides I already have a girl :p
