Our VM is always being slagged off for cross over, as well as those Bond babes. But how come other cross over artists such as Rod Dougan and Juno Reactor are constantly thrown acclaim for their works.
Yes I like both, but to me its an inexplicable diffrence. Mnay of the latters tracks take influence from the formers.
Does it smell like sexism to anyone else?
Someone tell me why...

I don't think it's is down to sexism,
In our girls case..
To the people of the classical world she did the unthinkable.
she took the classics and updated them, she took classical
music by the horns and dragged it kicking and screaming into
the twentieth century.
So you can imagine what this did to the classical world?
sacrelege, the unthinkable!
for centuries Classical music remained unchanged,
then along comes.... Vanessa-Mae

Many of the criticism that Vanessa-Mae receives is unfair and incorrect, at least in my opinion.
On the otherhand, I think they only critisize our Vanessa-Mae so hard because they take her and her talents seriously. If they only viewed her as an unimportant footnote, then they would simply ignore her.
Classical purists strongly believe that classical music should be played according to their standards, and as a consequence classical musicians should look and behave according to their standards as well.
Vanessa-Mae did none of these and so she was considered a threat to the classical standards the purists all embrace so strongly.
