Conecting with fretless - how can I contact with fretless?

Hello, all!

The latest days, a man wrote me a mail when said that he have close relationships with the TV and music world. He asked me how to contact with the Vanessa-mae company (Fretless) to arrange a visit of her to Argentina (a thing that we here are waiting for since a looooot of time! :banghead: )

Please, If somebody knows a real e-mail or website to talk with fretless, sent me it to info@vanessa-mae.com.ar

I'm sorry not to help but ...

1). I do not know that man who claims he has close relationships with the media. I will not give it out knowing that it will be distributed to strangers outside the VMF.
2). If he did have close relationships, he'd also have access to "people who know people who have access" to this type of information.
3). Fretless doesn't respond to everybody ... including me ... :btear:

A suggestion: In November, cards and a gift is being sent to Fretless. Have this man make a birthday card with his request.

I think that I must to explain some thing about this matter:

First: This man is a lawyer who like a lot the VM music. he's argentinean and, as all us here, he suffer the lack of her visits to our country. His contacts are just people from the TV and music mediums, but from ARGENTINA, and is necessary to know that here nobody knows Vanessa-Mae. Her name don't says nothing to people, inclusive the entertainment people, because they are involved unique and exclusively in the latin artists (Chayanne, Luis Miguel, Santana, Shakira, Mana, Ricky Martin, etc). And when an real international artist come here (Rolling Stones, Paul Mc Cartney, Chick Korea, etc), they don't came called by a TV businessman!
The attitude of VM and her company is very hard to understand to me. A great bad thing is the excessively restricted launching of her albums, mainly here in Argentina. neither her videos are availables. All this just make that her fans must to traffic her material trough the Internet (piracy!!!)
And I think she have forget us since a lot of time, because never have given a real concert here. Her 2002 visit to Brasil gave us a little illusion that she could to visit us to make a great LIVE recital...but don't be so. Neither to Mexico, when she don't play since 1998!!! What would you think, my european friends, if she don't give you a live concert since 1998, while are making a lot of concert (in example) in the USA, every years? Well, that is that happens with us. We aren't important for her. It's a real pain.
And the complication to contact her company (nobody want that she play free, I'm sure that the argentinean bussinessmans that contract her will paid her...and in dollars or euros) What does this means?
Really I can't understand her. However, I still think that she is a very very gift artist...BUT I WANT SEE HER PLAYING LIVE HERE!!! WHY IT IS SO DIFFICULT???

Over the past two years, I received several requests similar to jorgemae's.

I once passed such a request through to Vanessa-Mae at Fretless, but never received a reaction from her. As Joe mentioned it is useless.

That is why i decided to never do it again, nor will I disclose the contact details to anyone.

I contact Vanessa-Mae once a year on the occasion of her birhtday on the 27th of October.

If she wanted to be contacted for occasional events or for any motive by fans or other persons, she would have her address and contact details listed for all to read and use.

We have to respect her wish to be left alone and to have her privacy.

I must agree with joe certain members were given
a great priverlage and honoured to be given Vanessa-Maes
contact details, with this they obtain Vanessa's 'Trust'

I too have been waiting a year to contact Vanessa and I
cannot ask these people to break that trust. Mind you I have
tried but I have learned to accept it.

I live in Birmingham (England) you might find this hard
to believe but even here we do not get any Interveiws
with her, Vanessa-Mae will sometimes appear in a news
paper or a Sunday Magazine, but if you live Outside of
London then you do not even get these.
If you live outside of London you are very lucky if you find
a advert for a concert in your local paper.

I now eagerly await her birthday so that I can ask my question.

I respect Vanessa's wishes and I respect the trust inwhich she has bestowed upon certain people.
Please ask this businessman to be a little patient and to do the same.

Well, friends...

I'm not angry with any fan because somebody could have or not the VM address. I really not interested in these details. To know where are her house is really no matter to me. Is not my wish to spread her address, or her telephone number...No. I just would wish that she have a corporative website where the interested people in contract her could write her and let that she know that in other part of the world that isn't LONDON, GERMANY, HONG KONG, etc there are peoples that want see and hear her. I think that it isn't a big request. Please, understand this: I don't want any address or telephone number. I'm OK that she have gave her datas to a few fans, it's fine to me, and i'm not envy, absolutely. But, please, try to understand that I'm a fan, I admire her, and I've passed the last three years working very hard (please, believe that: very hard) to make and mantain a web site that promote her and her art. And, the result is that I've found a lot of fans from Argentina, mexico, España, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Bolivia, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Italia, etc, that them admire her a lot too, but are very frustrated and disappointed because she never visite their countries.
Actually, in Vanessa-Mae en español (our website) are working 4 persons, designing, and putting money to pay the server. In the last meeting I heard some disappointed words, about she never have sent a single message saying: "well done, thank you, argentinean friends". Now, try please to put yourselves in our place: We all are very devoted fans of VM and her music. As she have done very few to promote her for this side of the world (her appearances in Latin America can be counted with the fingers of one hand) we decided to be her "advertising agency" in the spanish speaking world. Since we start to promote her, a lot of fans have appear (that just means that there are a lot of people that would assist to her concerts if she would do them)
But, until now, our star seems be too much high to her brightness could touch us...or to see our work.
It's very probable that some of you be in disagreement with me, I respect that. Just want that you know that my words reflects the feeling of many fans forgottens.

We are satisfied with our work, and I, personally, think that we have bring a lot of thing about VM to many fans of this side of the world that don't have the obligation to learn english to understand the wonderful english sites. Things that, before Mr Mel Bush and today, Fretless, never have offered.

To end, the essence of all this looong letter is the following: If we (just four guys, who must go every days to their jobs, to raise their sons, and to fight with the lack of money) can work with a lot of passion, help the fans to have that they want, answer many letters, bringing information and helping them...etc....How is possible that she couldn't have a guy that make a serious web page (not as www.vanessa-mae.com, where, each time that one want to visit it, must to take away the spiders nets) and take five minutes per day to answer the questions of her public???

Our star is very high...and we are just stand on the floor.

FWIW,

Vanessa-Mae never gave me the address of Fretless, trusting me to not to disclose it. This could be why I never heard a response.

I think that the only responses to the fans were: an invitation to the Violin Fantasy; and acknowledgement of the first gift stating a comment regarding either the VMF or vanessamae.org.

If you ever are upset about the lack of response to your being a fan; I've received worse comments from my family as I coded web pages for hours every evening.

I understand the frustation that you all four are suffering.

I guess that is what a real and devoted fan is being about. To spend a lot of effort in time and money without getting anything in return.

I think we should think of these effort that we make as fans as purely and primarily for our own satisfaction.

I always write a letter with the birthday present. I will mention in this years letter that she has lots of fans in the USA and South America that are waiting to see her life in concert as soon as possible. I will mention your spanish website too!

I hope for a lot of birthday cards from you all to support the requests from North and South America.

But it is Vanessa-Mae's own decision what to do with it. Don't expect anything!

I would like to add...

Being a fan is a hobby, instead of collecting cigarette cards
or toy cars you collect info, records, photos, and just about
every thing that you can lay your hands on.
If you get to see, meet or chat to that person, then you also
collect unforgetable memories.

As Rijko has said it is up to us the fans to spread the word to do
the advertising

Thanks you a lot to understand me, and for your words. Really I'm feel between friends here!

Besides, I see that you don't think that my words are lies. I just try to be sincere with everybody and say all I feel.

However, I still think and support it that VM is a very big artist, and a wonderful violinist, may be the best of our days, and my work in my site is, too, a pleasure. Nobody have obligated me to built it. As you said, Arioch, I must take it as a Hobby and no more.

Im praying she comes down under for a performance as well, so i know how u feel there.
i think ive been told she has been down here once, not too sure on that, anyone know if VMs been down to Australia?

I don't know if she has played there, but she was in Australia in 1999. Remember these pictures in melbourne, in the Gran Prix of 1999.
