Jamais - uncredited ???

I was looking at my Subject to change booklet and found something weird ... There a no credits listed listed for song number 12 (jamais). Any idea who wrote it ?

Its a kindda "to the point" breakup song in french. I took the liberty of translating it for those of you who dont speak the only civilized language on earth, french.

Never, will we be one , not yet, I would like to feel that we are one, share our lives as we shared the sun, You never heard me cry, our little story is over, I want to feel that we are one, share our lives as we do the sun.

It should be noted that the written lirics differ a bit from what she sings. She uses past tense in some places where present is written in the booklet. Or it might be her british accent that is throwing my ears off.

It is strange indeed and I have no explanation for this whatsoever. I did some searching on the internet but was not able to find anything on this.

Good question,

I was sure that it was written by Vanessa-Mae
for it is about the breakup of her first relationship with
French F1 racing driver Jacques Villeneuve.

Why there is nothing credited to this track I do not know,
Unless it is because she never wanted him to know she had wrote it.
Just a wild guess by the way

Humm ... I didnt knew she had something with Villeneuve... I already knew he was an idiot ... but now ... ...

On the other hand ... she seems to like French speaking guys ... Villeneuve then Lionel ...

Me and Villeneuve have aloth in common, we're both French Canadians , we're both unemployed , we both drive like idiots, we're both "good looking" (everything is relative right ?) ... Well , thats it , Lionel , watch out , i m moving to London

Atreides do you like skiing?

Vanessa-Mae loves to ski, the problem is so does Lionel.
But the major hurdle you will encounter is that Lionel
owns his very own ski shop at some major town/ski resort
in which (Rijko correct me if i'm wrong) Lionels father
happens to be the Lord Mayor of.

Atreides if you want to get a date with our girl then my
advice to you is... Purchase the town/ski resort :p

The profession of Lionel is not quite clear to me.

Initially it was said that Lionel was some kind of playboy figure an that he was running a ski shop and training centre in Val D'Isere. Lionel was supposed to be the son of the mayor of Val D'Isere.

Later it was said that he was a French wine merchant.

All that seems certain to me is that fact that Lionel is French.

I go for the wine merchant profession because it is a consistent and frequent rumour. Moreover and probable most important, I remember that Vanessa-Mae told this also in an interview in a newspaper.

As far as Vanessa-Mae's alleged relation with Villeneuve. For me this has never come any further than gossip rumours.

Some time ago, I did an internet research to find out anymore information and to see if any photos of Vanessa-Mae together with Villeneuve exist.

I didn't find any such photos, but a lot of photos of Villeneuve with several other girl friends.

Also, I found a Villeneuve site with an interview. Villeneuve denied that any relationship with Vanessa-Mae was actual at any moment. In fact, he claimed that he and his former girl friend (don't remember who that was) were back togehter again. He said he only knew Vanessa-Mae slightly.

Facts are as far as i know that Vanessa-Mae did a special concert on the F1 season opening party in January 1999. This was shorlty after working with another F1 driver (can't spell his name right now) for 'Get Inspired' campaign of the Siemens mobile phone.

Later that winter, Vanessa-Mae participated in an anual 24 hours skiing event that is organised by Villeneuve for charity purposes in Villars Switzerland.

I think the rumours start with that event. Vanessa-Mae was member of Villeneuve's team.

Apart from this all, Vanessa-Mae has never said anything on a possible relation with Villeneuve.

So much is certain, Vanessa-Mae and Villeneuve know eachother from the F1 related events that I mentioned.

If a guy like villeneuve is standing next to a beautiful woman, some gossip magazine will write that this woman is his new girl friend!!

Anyway, I am quite conservative in these matters and I somehow like the idea that Lionel is our Vanessa-Mae's first real boyfriend. I too hope that they will stay together forever!!

All these are speculations, I am afraid.

We have to wait until Vanessa-Mae releases her autobiography to find out the truth.
