I was just wondering what is the significance of the song the Blessed Spirits, because it seems kind of pointless to me. She only plays for a few minutes out of it and it's really long, and kind of strange because of the guitar intro and the chanting.

So what exactly is the song about?

I don't know the meaning of the 'Blessed Spirits,' but it certainly is one of my favourite songs of Vanessa-Mae.

I would love to talk with Vanessa-Mae and ask her about the ideas, motives and meanings and her intentions behind her music. It would certainly be great to know more about thit. Hopefully in her forthcomming autobiography that she will tell something more about the meaning of the songs as she sees them. We know so little on this; we can only speculate!

Anyway, 'The Blessed Spirits' is wonderful music. Vanessa-Mae started her 'Storm On World Tour' concert in The Hague, June 1998 with this music. I was there and when she started to play immedialtely all my fears about whether she could meet my very high expections in a live show were gone instantaneously. To hear the electric Zeta violin sound shimmer through the concert hall was very emotional to me.

I preserve many fine memories to these moments and every time that I listen to the Storm album and 'The Blessed Spirits' starts at the end this all comes back to me. That is why this album is so precious to me.

Also, I once saw a documentary on a famous Dutch football player Marco van Basten. He had to stop his career at an age of around 28 years because of severe knee and ankle injuries. At the end of the movie, scenes of van Basten with his virtuoso handling of the ball are shown. 'The Blessed Spitirts' (the end of this song) was used to accompany these scences of Marco van Basten.

These scenes of Van Basten and 'The Blessed Spirits' really fit togehter.

So 'The Blessed Spirits' for me means electrifying virtuosity, grace, elegance and skills and overwhelming emotions that sweep up to heights on which everything moves and speeds up to end in .............................

Anyone elso who has a nice story to tell?
