What screen resolution do you use?
I would just like to get an idea of the screen resolution our forum members, which I presume makes up a large percentage of our regular website visitors.
I'd also like to know if anyone thinks the forum/website looks weird or awkward on their screen.
Any other suggestions related to the viewing of the site/forum are welcome.
Thanks! :user:

G day aventine, long time no see, just wondering, a bug report email address, i know most bugs when found may be posted here, but having an email address would probabbly make things look more professional, its something i thaught of a while ago, but i havent had time to look around in the admin seciton on how to make one. (im sure its not too hard though)

yup, and then have a link on the main vanessamae.org page that says 'Report a bug' and the link either a mail to (opens outlook) or a html form that they fill in and the bug report gets sent to bugs@vanessamae.org by submitting the form

I use both 800x600 and 1024x768. This site works well with the lower, and looks a little thin at the higher.
I like it at 800x600 though. Other sites that require me to use 1024x768 kinda annoy me.
I guess the bugs email would work for non-forum visitors. Most VMF people usually post these issues.
The VM.ORG at the top doesn't make much sense to me. We're not the Vocal Majority Chorus (hmmm, are we?).

Ok, some good suggestions coming in. I don't think it will be *too* hard to make some amendments since the website is mostly php driven... (right, Street_Rat??).
I have also noticed that it looks kind of empty on the bigger resolutions, which is starting to become more popular as time goes by. I myself am on 1152 x 864 after getting a new computer system. :hypnotized:
haboek is right though, the content is more important so I want to make sure that it can be as accessible as possible. May look at bringing back some of the static info from the old site.
It's really hard to get things absolutely right. I guess I always get excited when a new version is done, but after awhile I see the many flaws, lol.
I'll wait a bit to see if what else we can come up with. Suggestions as to how to make it more interactive will be good.
We probably need more emoticons in the forum too...
Of course, this is all preliminary stuff. It will be some time before I can squeeze out the hours to rework some of these things.
We're in 2004 now (must change that date thing at the bottom). It's hard to believe we've been here for that long.

It shouldent be too hard to change the tables so that on higher res screens, the tables are full width, and on smaller res screens the tables are smaller. itll just mean on higher res, more text across the screen so you dont need to scroll down so much.
as for the emoticons, im sure ill be one of a few here, but i hate them, i find them more annoying than anything, but thats just me.
and as a side note to amQhr, can you please not put 1 meg gif images into your posts, running on a 56k thats having problems, 1 meg takes about 10 min to dl, so the page takes forever to load with such files.

Sorry, but I couldn't encounter any problem with those gif-files as long as they are not longer than 2 MByte, because I have a highspeed modem. I'll hold me shQhrt like a Maedow for spQhrt in the futureStreet_Rat wrote:and as a side note to amQhr, can you please not put 1 meg gif images into your posts, running on a 56k thats having problems, 1 meg takes about 10 min to dl, so the page takes forever to load with such files.
