You can read the details about the performance here:

She performed the song "Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime" and she actually played Haylie Ecker's part from Bond which was originally recorded with Vanessa Carlton.

Thanks Erin for this news. Nice photos of our Vanessa-Mae in action. What a wonderful top she is wearing. I like the black leather pants too!

Since Zucchero is italian, I investigated a little more...and I discovered that that girl is not our Vanessa as you can see on this photo taken Zucchero official site PHOTO

I suspected that she wasn't her at the first glance. Vanessa is skinny. That girl's not.

I wonder who is she however.....

Encore, I think you are right. I only looked briefly yesterday evening because I was very tired, and automatically assumed the girl indeed to be our Vanessa-Mae. I got mislead because she isn't looking into the camera.

Haylie Ecker, isn't that one of the Bond girls??? I was really surprised and rather disappointed that Vanessa-Mae was playing a piece of Bond. I can't imagine that she would ever do such!

There is so much better music to play for our Vanessa-Mae, rather than to copy Bond!!

BTW, that violinist has beautiful hair too, and her top is nice!

Wow... Lot of anti bond comments. Why not like both? Anyway, Haylie only played it, it's not one of her songs.

Anti Bond? You probably refer to my post in this topic.

Playing music that was made for Bond would be a step back for Vanessa-Mae. She simple can do better than that. She would gain nothing by doing a piece made for Bond.

Bond simple does not appeal to me.

It's interesting to me that in any quotes I've seen from bond or Vanessa, they have never referred to one another. Perhaps naively, I expected to see bond listing her among influences and inspirations. Also it seems they never opened a show for her when they were on their way up. Is there a feud?

Vanessa-Mae has been asked about Bond several times. I've seen a couple on German television. Vanessa-Mae alsways said that she sees no rivalry; she sees that Bond does what she has done in her Violin Player period, she moved on in new musical directions.

Bond was founded by Mel Bush, who was also Vanessa-Mae's manager for almost 10 years at that time. Shortly after Bond started, Vanessa-Mae finished her collaboration with Mel Bush, explaining that she needed a change after so many years of working together.

I have always found Vanessa-Mae's view and action quite reasonable. In my opinion, Mel Bush wanted to explore and exploit the concept of 'The Violin Player' further and since Vanessa-Mae didn't agree to make such an album her founded Bond. Of course there is nothing wrong with that! Sales figures show that there is space for musicians and ensembles like Bond.

I have always been happy that Vanessa-Mae never recorded a 'Violin Player 2' album, but instead that she explored new musical styles and developed herself further as an artist and musician.

I have no real idea how Bond feels about Vanessa-Mae. I've only read once that they respect her.
