check out this new classical crossover musician! he's maksim, a piano player. i saw him on mtv today and i think he's cool! sorry, i cant find his official site.

Here is a little info' on Maksim Mrvica...

Maksim Mrvica, a young pianist born in 1975 in Sibenik, who has won the Nicolai Rubinstein International Competition of Pianists in Paris in 1999, and the International Pinaist Competition Pontoise in Paris in 2001 (his secon name - Mrvica - means "crumb" in Croatian language!),

i've just bought "the piano player" cd and it's good! it's copy controlled; includes a bonus vcd that includes the flight of the bumblee video, an interview, and an interactive gallery; and has the bonus track, cubana cubana. the cd is currently at number 25 of tower records' overall album chart here.

maksim was discovered by mel bush.

wow maksim is coming in the philippines! but i've lost my interest in maksim. in fact, i am planning to trade my maksim cd with an itzhak perlman with a friend. although i lost my interest i'll try to come and bring my camera!

it's really unfair that vanessa-mae has not come here.

hi all!
i was able to catch maksim in concert here in the philippines last april 20, 2004 at CCP. he was great but i expected more from the concert... the stage design was far from amazing just a screen to show some video clips, i was also hoping for an orchestra to accompany him but there were only 5 violinists 2 violists 1 basist 1 guitarist 1 keyboards 1 drummer... but he was still veryvery good. =D the theatre wasn't full but i expected less people. =) he played pieces from his cd, and the classical version of the bumblebee and another song (i forgot what the title was but this wasn't on his cd).

according to my sisterinlaw who was able to interview him over the phone just this week, that he's coming back to the philippines this november =) it was a pretty short interview approximately 15 min... he also mentioned that his new album will be coming out soon... =)

-i really must talk with my sisterinlaw again, i've pretty much forgotten everything she told me about the interview! forgetful me!
