Hi alan,

Thanks for the photos: they are nice!

Yeah, securitiy is always a problem for a fan who just want to shoot a few photos to have memories of the evening. This is awkward especially when you consider the fact that Vanessa-Mae herself doesn't mind at all as long as no flashlight is used.

Can you tell something more in detail about the concert? What pieces did she play, or was the program more or less the same as for the other concerts in the 'choreography' tour?

I notice that there was a break, since Vanessa-Mae changed top during her show (blue and green one)!

Music she has played is almost the same as the last tour.

There was a technical problem on her classical violin so she has changed the order of music she planned to play, but the whole thing went smoothly after all.

I can't really give a detailed review as I didn't jot down what she has played. One thing I can comment is that the screen thing behind her is quite nice. It made the concert a lot more interesting with different colour and pattern shining on the stage.

By any chance I could be the official photographer of Vanessa Mae in the UK? I gladly shoot for her for free. :)

Great photos Alan i think that we all would love to be her official photographer.
One thing that is concerning me very much and that is how thin our
noodles is looking! I know that she normally looks thin but in these
photos she looks all skin and bone. Vanessa's jaw and cheek bones
are now very prominent.
But still she is just as gorgeous as ever

Now the question is..
Is this the start of her UK tour?

Alan did Vanessa do a signing after the show?

Howdy All,

I went to last nights performance & enjoyed it very much. It was my first VM concert & hopefully not my last. She had the same set list as mentioned in your other review Rijko, but ran into a technical problem in the first half with one of her violins. She swapped over to the other one & comicly apologised about a malfunction in her microphone F hole!!

I was rather disapointed that there was no concert booklets, t-shirts/merchandise to buy. Only her CD was for sale on the way out. She didn't even have a signing after the show I did go round the back to the stage door, but couldn't wait for long as I had to get the train home.

There were other fans there, all prepaired with photos they brought with them etc. I didn't have anything so I wasn't ready with a pen or something to sign so I didn't feel it was worth waiting around.

I would have liked to brought a concert programe or t-shirt as a souvenir, so I'm a bit disapointed about that. But all in all, it was a good show :)
I come & go as I please. But only if I really want to.

Yes, hopefully this is the start of a new UK tour. The UK is her home land, she should definitley tour there!

Arioch, our Vanessa-Mae is indeed very thin and skinny: that is why she is really our Noodles!!

I find Vanessa-Mae beautiful because she has such characteristic features and because she shows do much personality with all she has.

It doesn't seem like that there will be a DVD release then :(
unlessit has been filmed at a previous venue or maybe a future
one?

I sure hope that Sony and Vanessa have agreed to produce a DVD
of the tour for us, I suppose all we can do is to wait once again!

Is there anyone of us who has some contacts in the Sony organisation, or the management of Vanessa? I think that this is the only way to find out if and when there will be a DVD!

The only contacts i have with Sony is with the web team:(

I think it might be a good idea to move this topic to another part of the forum?

If any one who has been to one of the Choreography concerts
please let us know if you noticed if it was being filmed?

At the time of Vanessa-Mae's transfer from EMI to Sony, I received an official Sony press release announcing that Vanessa-Mae had signed to Sony Classical. The press release was made by an high ranked Sony dignatary for pubicity and promotional affairs. I contacted htis person by email with some questions that she kindly answered.

A possible DVD release was among the issues that I brought up. The answer was that no such plans existed at that time but that she considered the suggested as interesting.

Anyway, I am sure that an official filming for DVD release of a concert would be announced on the official website.

I will make the Sony press release available at my website available soon.

Here is my contribution from the Royal Albert Hall Concert. The pictures didn't turn out anyhwere near as good as I wanted, but at least I managed to get some this time. Plus I was 7 rows back which didnt help much either, but here they are along with a flyer for the show.

Answers for questions

Post by alan1234 »

Sorry, I didn't come here for some time and notices quite a lot of questions have been asked.

Let me try to get them all answered.

Q: Can you tell something more in detail about the concert? What pieces did she play, or was the program more or less the same as for the other concerts in the 'choreography' tour?
A: I think it's almost identical to the last tour. I was a bit disappointed. I don't think I can give you a list of songs she has played. I wouldn't think you should bother to know about it.

Q: Alan did Vanessa do a signing after the show?
A: No, she didn't.

Q: Hey Alan, Jim did you notice if the concert was being filmed?
A: No, I didn't notice. I don't think it was recorded.
