Because of my 40 years personal experience with many things Asian, I had thought Vanessa-Mae's spilled water Good Luck superstition was from her own Oriental background. But I was wrong. According to Vanessa-Mae herself she was taught this by her Bulgarian Violin teacher.....So it would seem that she got it from Vasko Vassilev.
She stated that he recommended she do this before a performance when she was only 11 years old. Vanessa says she has been doing it ever since.
How interesting. Now I know where it came from.
May she play forever !

I have no idea whether she still has this ritual before performances. Maybe we can ask her with this years bday project!

Hello Rijko,
I am glad I will be here at the time of Vanessa-Mae's birthday this year. I am looking forward to helping out. I really want to add my name to the list.
