i'd like to know the history of this page. i think there used to be a team running this site. the team is composed of:
AVENTINE - designer; forum moderator; site administrator
JOE - programmer; forum moderator
RIJKO- forum moderator
DAISY - forum moderator
BENJI - chat administrator (is this the right term?)
did i forget anyone? so how did you guys meet each other and plan to establish this web page?

I used to remember this stuff.
From what I recall, Haidee started designing her site and came into contact with Frank Langbein of www.vanessa-mae.org . This is why she eventually picked www.vanessamae.org . The first version was at Xoom (very slow for a modem user like myself). She moved to Envy.nu, then to F2S, then to F2G. Versions 2 and 3 of her site (with lots of flash images) are no longer online.
She started up a message board which still remains at http://pub40.ezboard.com/bvanessamaeforum , and this became the first VM-F. Haidee promoted FSVM quite heavily. She eventually showed up at the Yahoo Club/Group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vanessamae2/) where I had been posting for over a year. After two or three "invitations to all to visit FSVM" from Haidee, I decided to visit the EZBoard forum. From there it moved to F2S, then to Netfirms, and now to here. Rijko and Daisy were at EZboard when I arrived; Benji showed up later (Benji was part of Frank's VM-L of years ago).
Some at the forum (including Daisy) couldn't view the site with the flash images. Haidee asked me to duplicate the site without them. The final version is still online at http://fsvm.f2g.net/ . I don't think I can edit it anymore. I asked F2G to remove the files, they said they would, but haven't.
With version 2 of FSVM, Haidee and Benji added a Chat feature which is on his (or his company's?) server.
Overall for FSVM, Haidee is the designer, maintainer. I am (was?) also a maintainer. Daisy and Rijko are main contributors (but everyone helped and is credited on the Management page). Benji is listed as IRC administrator.
As for the forum, Haidee is the moderator and administrator. Rijko, Daisy and I are former moderators.
Now for the next version ... Haidee is the designer along with ... ? What is Haidee officially calling those who post articles again?
(Sorry this is roughly typed. It is way past my bedtime here.)
I think that basically Joe said it all, but here are some additional explanations.
I joined the first forum in the summer of 2000, shortly after it's launch. We had 3 or 4 members at that time and that number rapidly increased. Aventine, Daisy and myself were the among first, Joe and many others joined soon.
We had much to find out about our Vanessa-Mae at the early start of the forum in 2000. Together we searched the internet extensively, espcecially Daisy found many sites with valuable information and photos.
We have changed server 3 or 4 times and the forum is now on a paid hosting server. A few members contributed in the costs to Aventine.
In October 2000, a group of active members decided to send Vanessa-Mae a birhtday present and to make this a yearly event. Vanessa-Mae's reaction made it clear that she had seen the forum and Aventines 'Four Season of Vanessa-Mae' website. Aventine and all others were thrilled by the idea that Vanessa-Mae said 'the site looks great'. Since then, we sent Vanessa-Mae a present and best wishes for her birthday every year. All members are more than welcome to participate in this. Photos and scans of the present were available on FSVM site and I think Aventine will put them up again once her new site is running.
I suppose the launch of Vanessa-Mae'own forum at her official EMI website can be attributed to the enormous success of this fans forum, and that it is a sign that Vanessa-Mae appreciates our support and likes our initiative.
Wow, this is interesting. This topic inspired me to stick in a small history section on the new site. I didn't even remember half of this stuff myself.
I remember there being a completely flash version, when I first discovered flash. The only people who've seen this version was me and Sebastian... I've lost that somehow. I was not exactly computer literate when I first started making websites - I had just been connected to the internet and knew nothing about backing up. Same with the XOOM one - remember? The black one...
Oh and there was also my VERY first html written site which I'm not going to boast about it (it was seriously very basic, I didn't even know how to change the colour of the links), but it was about Vanessa-Mae too! I did it while doing a html tutorial. This was in 1999, when I first got the internet.
