I have just noticed that EMI International has renewed its vanessa-mae.com domain until Januari 8th 2005. I've checked this via:

OK, Glenn should know the answer to this, but here's my guess.

The DOM is probably for Domain. Remember, there are .COM, .ORG, .NET, etc. The number is probably just a way to make them unique.

BTW - mine is VANESSAMAE7-DOM (not VANESSA-MAE???) and vanessamae.com is VANESSAMAE-COM-DOM. There doesn't seem one assigned to VANESSA-MAE-DOM, but perhaps I am searching wrong.

Yes it is for servers space. It is not a web space.
For Techscape we have 9. Techscape1-DOM, Techscape2-DOM, etc...
