Vanessa-Mae left EMI

Rumours were there about Vanessa-Mae leaving EMI for quite some time.

I posted in the news board that I've seen an email that strongly confirms that our Vanessa-Mae has left EMI indeed.

I have no doubt anymore on this!

The question is what this choice will have for impact on the career of our Vanessa-Mae. Of course she will have her reasons to change record company.

How do we as fans see this and evaluate this in term of pro's and contra's. Is it good for Vanessa-Mae or not?

Here are a few of my ideas.

1 Vanessa-Mae will always be Vanessa-Mae, whether she is with EMI or any other record company. Her creativity does not depend on this.

2 EMI has granted her full artisitc and creative freedom. Vanessa-Mae was allowed to record whatever she wanted. I trust that she insisted on the same privileges in her new contract. In my opinion, Vanessa-Mae should be thankful to EMI because they gave, although as being a multi talented prodigy, a virtually unknown artist many opportunities and credits in advance. I think she will recognise that honestly.

3 Vanessa-Mae takes a risk in leaving EMI, because all copyrights of all her work so far lies with EMI. It will be difficult for Vanessa-Mae to copy the commercial success of money makers as The Violin Player, Storm and The Classicla album1. But then, Vanessa-Mae has always been a daring person and she never avoided 'calculated' risks.

4 We as fans have always been very unhappy and angry with the way EMI promoted our Vanessa-Mae. Especially, the internet pressence at www.vanessa-mae.com has been below everything a distinguished artist as Vanessa-Mae truely deserves. In this she can only gain from signing to another company.

Does anyone has any other ideas, comments?

i think its good that she left EMI, since EMI cd quality sux and they dont do good promo on VM.

i think if she decided to left emi was for a good, reason.. i thiunk is freedom for her but she now is kind of alone (or not?), well the most important thing now is know as rijko said where is vanessa mae signed... and also to kno what happened to the new classical album or so... if some body has notices please post soon...
