Yes, the view from the peak is spectacular - even if the building itself is ugly. They have a nice little French cafe there, and a funny (not always intentionally) history of Hong Kong ride that tries to be Disney-ish. I love it when the typhoon knocks over the fake palm tree!
I took the elevator ...

How was Hong Kong? I'm not crazy about big cities, but for some reason I like HK. My cousin lives overlooking Tai Tam Harbour. It was on a ferry from Macau to HK in 1998 that I first saw Vanessa-Mae - on the video screen of course. They had a bit on her right before the documentary on Jackie Chan ...

I can't judge China Girl on a critical level since I know little about violin or about other performances of the same music. However, I really love the Butterfly Lovers and play it on my car CD all the time. The melody is one that I never tire of, and I've had it for a few years now. She seems to ...

They made a rule about having to have a certain number of posts to access the goodies section. But I think they said they didn't want people to just post anything so they could get enough posts to qualify. This scared me off because I didn't want to be seen as just posting for the sake of gaining ...

The site is now fully active, with amazing new pictures, music samples, and other stuff (I have a very slow connection).
I really love the photos. They're essentially black and white, with a splash of colour on her shoes. It's very effective. The pictures have a steely-coolness about them, then use ...

The Eye (movie)
I watched this horror film last night, set in Hong Kong, about a woman who regains her sight and sees ghost. Verrrrrry creepy. The woman, despite being tone deaf, plays violin in an orchestra for the blind.

I was a kid at the time but remember it vividly and we did have a very good time!
Even the Berlin scans are good. I actually like the close up of her even though it is blurry. Whether intentional or not, it has a neat, artistic feel to it. In the others, there's even detail in the black pants which ...

Is anyone aware of places in N. America or online to buy traditional Chinese music. Non-vocal. I'm thinking of that serene, twangy, soothing music that makes you think of karst peaks and rural temples. The closest I have is Vanessa's Butterfly Lovers. I've seen some Chinese music in stores in the ...
